ONCOLOGY NURSING SESSION
The Oncology Nursing symposium intends to stimulate reflection and sharing of experiences among nurses from various countries, with the aim of promoting an improvement in nursing care for the cancer patient and his family.
The Oncology Nursing symposium is organized to provide specialized knowledge on the different models of advanced nursing and to allow the application of research and nursing theory to the development of nurses’ practice, enabling the continuous improvement of care to cancer patients and their families.
Topics addressed will include innovative intervention programs that use multidimensional approaches in the course of oncological disease, such as the concept of Oncology Nurse Navigator in the United States of America; a support line for cancer patients; non-pharmacological therapies in the follow-up of cancer patients; nursing counselling in the promotion of quality of life in patients with cancer; and also the intervention of nurses in oncology with patients that survived cancer and psychosocial intervention.
