CANCER IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOTHERAPY SESSION
A greater focus on clinical and preclinical research combined with an easier access to information are not unrelated to the evolution of Oncology.
Better understanding of cancer has translated into better clinical practice in cancer treatment of advanced/metastatic disease with gains in survival.
In the Immunology module of Leaping Forward Oncology 2017, we invite you to review and discuss, with some of today’s leading researchers, concepts of immunology applied to Oncology.
The program includes a “basic to advanced” exploration needed by the clinician, looking at topics such as assessment of response to immunotherapy, mechanisms of resistance to immunological treatment, and toxicities observed with the new drugs and their treatment. We will also discuss the development of custom immunotherapy with CAR-T cells and dendritic cells, with real life examples.
In addition we will examine current and future perspectives of immunotherapy in the treatment of several oncologic pathologies, from melanoma to lung cancer and genitourinary, central nervous system and breast tumors.
